Ricky Lionardi started his early career as Arranger, Composer and Producer. Studying at Berklee College of Music with a double major in Jazz Composition and Guitar Performance, Ricky graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2003. After leaving Berklee, Ricky got his first recognition when he came back to Indonesia and got the chance to work for Maliq & d’Essentials’ first album in 2005.

Ricky works on many projects such as film scoring, music-album production, song-arrangements and also live-shows. He is also the Music Director for Ricky Lionardi Jazz Orchestra and Ceora Jazz Entertainment at the moment. His experience as Music Director/Orchestrator/Conductor has now brought him to be the rising Indonesian composer/arranger.

The first film scoring project produced by Ricky is 6:30 in 2007, and since then Ricky has been in the film industry as a Film Composer. Until 2019, Ricky has worked on more than 50 feature movies.

Ricky Lionardi have the honor to receive the award as ‘Penata Musik Terpuji‘ in Festival Film Bandung 2016 after getting nominated twice in Festival Film Bandung (2008 & 2016), Festival Film Indonesia 2010 (Indonesian Film Festival), and Piala Maya 2013.

In 2014, a 50-piece Ricky Lionardi Orchestra accompanied Indonesia’s best musicians and singers performed in the live shows of Indonesian Film Festival (Piala Citra & Piala Vidya). And in 2016, Ricky Lionardi Chamber Orchestra accompanied a theatrical production ‘Bunga Penutup Abad’ directed by Wawan Sofwan, produced by Happy Salma from Titimangsa Foundation, adapted from the masterpiece of Pramoedya Ananta Toer.

Exploring many fields in music industry, Ricky has collaborated with several big names such as Al Schmitt (15 times Grammy Winning Recording Engineer and Producer) and Ron McMaster (Nat King Cole, Herbie Hancock, R.E.M, Bill Evans Mastering Engineer).

In October 2018, Ricky Lionardi released his first single, ‘Sabda Alam’ on his debut music album project called Senandung Indonesia . The vision of the project is to preserve Indonesia’s popular songs back in the golden era, with the new jazz orchestra arrangements, collaborating with Indonesia’s finest singers and musicians such as Andien in Aku Cinta Dia, Trio Lestari (Glenn Fredly, Tompi, Shandy Sondoro) in Tinggal Bilang, Tompi in Bengawan Solo, Indra Aziz in Sabda Alam, and soon to be relased with Dira Sugandi and Maliq & D’Essentials. Senandung Indonesia is in process to be released in a music album & songbook.
